through the eyes of michael scott

One of my favorite television shows is a series called, The Office. It stars Steve Carell as Michael Scott who is the regional manager of a paper sales company. The show revolves around the lives of the employees at this company. It is HILARIOUS. I have seen every single episode multiple times. While Michael Scott is a ridiculous character, he has his "wise" moments. I've compiled a few of these moments as they relate to my everyday teaching life.

I present to you "Teacher Tips" as told through the eyes of Michael Scott:

Always try your absolute best.
You are your greatest cheerleader!

Be ready to wing it - flexibility is key.
Fake it 'til you make it!

Establish good classroom management skills.
Stay consistent!

When in doubt - bring in treats.
Always bring in treats.

Be a a good role model for your students.
Share positive values and habits.

The students won't always laugh at your jokes,
no matter how funny it  truly was.

and lastly...

You're not in this for the money.
It is all about the kids!
(not that you needed a reminder!)

I hope you are all having a wonderful week.
For my teachers out there, just remember, only a few more days until our next long weekend (no school Monday!).
