One Shirt, Three Ways: Chambray

Monday, October 31, 2016

Chambray tops are such a great staple to have in your closet. They are extremely versatile and can be worn multiple ways: alone, underneath a sweater, on top of a tank or tee, buttoned (or unbottoned)...you get the idea. Most chambray tops are soft and easy to pack. I usually go for ones that have tencel in them - a material that is nice and soft with some 'give' (it is also environmentally friendly...yay earth!).

Below I've styled a top from MADEWELL (find it here) three different ways:

Other Chambray Options:

1) This top's oversized style lends itself to be worn with leggings. The first look is most casual - perfect for romping around a pumpkin patch or trailing through the city on a crisp fall day.

2) We get a little more refined when paired underneath a pale blush jumper - Doc Martens keep the look grounded with a little edge. I own those exact boots and love them. They are super comfortable and the flowers are dainty which gives a nice feminine sweep of color to an otherwise masculine combat boot.

3) Last, I wanted to try something different and allow for some juxtaposition - slouchy vs classy. My vision for this look is carefree with the shirt half tucked into a pair of cuffed black slouchy chinos (from Zara). To wrap it all up, I added a nude pump. It sounds crazy, but it looks really good...trust me!

Which style is your favorite?
