Fear the Turtleneck

Friday, October 28, 2016

Is anyone else afraid of turtlenecks? I suppose afraid is the wrong word to use. While I don't have some sort of weird phobia suitable for a TLC episode, I am weary to cut off such an elongating feature. I'm only 5'2 so I'll take any additional height (or mirage) I can get. My mom who is a similar height, although I'd argue I'm taller, has worn turtlenecks for years. She looks incredibly chic each time...#jelly

I'm not talking about your run of the mill cotton turtlenecks children wore in the 90's underneath their overalls. Today's turtlenecks come in a variety of fabrics, styles, and cuts. Each year I try to wear turtlenecks and struggle with finding one that is just right. Similar to Goldilocks, I've tried some that were too tight, too short, too thin, too thick, the neck is too high, or not high enough. UGH. It is honestly exhausting. So what ends up happening is I give up and tell myself that it's a silly look anyways (stupid, good for nothin', dumb turtlenecks). THEN I see someone wearing one, either on the street or in a magazine, and I fall in love all over again and begin feverishly searching yet again.

It's a vicious cycle. Serenity now.

In order to help both of us, I've scoured racks and websites (giving my mailman a hernia) finding those perfect pieces. You're welcome :)
